Maddi has been working in various roles within education since 2004, including mainstream primary, secondary and alternative provision settings. This has given Maddi extensive experience of working as part of and leading pastoral teams in education settings, developing an in depth understanding of school systems, processes and working with a diverse range of professionals and students. This has included working closely with senior leadership teams and in a multi-agency capacity with the wider professional networks around a school.

Maddi has led on projects within education to support and embed whole school mental health and wellbeing, including delivering training and supporting staff and students on an individual and group basis. Maddi has also had extensive experience of working with children and young people in a therapeutic way, using a range of therapeutic and evidence- based approaches such as CBT, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy and Theraplay.

Maddi qualified as an Educational Psychologist (EP) in 2018, she has worked in Derby City and Nottingham City since graduating the Doctoral Programme and as well as carrying out the vast range of duties typical to the role of an EP (listed below) has been involved in and led on local and national projects, such as the ‘Pupil Views’ research, national piloting of the ATTEND program for non-attenders and the Wellbeing Return to Education Project.

Alongside Dr Green, Maddi has developed the content and resources for the new www.nottalone.org.uk website, which provides all users with resources and referral pathways for help and support from both local and national mental health support services.
