James Harris

£0.00

James’ commitment is to the children and young people who "go down the gaps" of our education systems.  He stepped aside from the headship of a highly inclusive secondary school in April 2023 in order to be able to work and campaign for the education of those who are most disadvantaged in our schools.

He has over 30 years of experience in education and remains a practising teacher, part-time, as that is at the heart of my professional identity.

In September 2023 he started the Finding Common Ground project (www.findingcommonground.org.uk) which helps parents and carers build positive relationships with their child's school - something that he considers vital based on his experience as a school leader and as a parent of children with additional needs. This has led to speaking and training work based on the findings of the project which goes alongside the core project work of advising individual parents and carers.

He is a SEND Associate for NASEN (National Association for Special Educational Needs) and an assessor for the Inclusion Quality Mark along with involvement in a number of interesting projects particularly relating to inclusion and the ways in which education could or should be different.
