Anthony is the Executive Headteacher at Tameside Pupil Referral Service.

He has been a qualified teacher for 26 years, having started his career as an English teacher. He has worked across five different authorities and held senior roles, (predominantly in secondary education), in six different schools. He has been instrumental in helping Tameside Pupil Referral Service to move from a Requires Improvement rating to Good in eighteen months.

In 2022 he completed a diploma in trauma and mental health and gained practitioner status. He also completed the National Professional Qualification in Executive Leadership in May 2023.

Anthony chairs and leads the headteacher's exclusion group and has created an innovative outreach programme which focuses on a proactive, relational approach. He is currently developing a ‘relational inclusion’ approach encompassing ACES, Trauma, Attachment and Emotion Coaching and is a member of the Violence Reduction Unit steering group for Greater Manchester and the Greater Manchester Trauma and Attachment working party.

His biggest passion is finding ways to gain an understanding of the root cause of some of the issues young people and their communities face.
